Jesus - Miracle Worker

‘Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled to the brim, he said, “Dip some out and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So they followed his instructions.

John 2:7–8 (nlt)

Jesus - Miracle WorkerMary the mother of Jesus, Jesus Himself and His disciples were at a wedding in Cana in Galilee when the wine ran out. Mary told the servants, ‘Whatever He says to you, do it.’ Mary knew in her heart that her Son Jesus would do something miraculous and to pay careful attention to His instructions. There were six stone water jars that were used for ceremonial purposes and each held between twenty to thirty gallons (75 to 115 litres).

Jesus told the servants to fill the water jars and to draw some water out and take it to the master of the banquet. They followed Jesus’ instructions. The water had turned to wine and it was the best wine served at the wedding. This was the fist miraculous sign in Galilee and it displayed Jesus’ glory. His disciples believed in Him because of this sign.

The key to any fruitful or successful ministry is to be prophetically led by God Himself. To put it another way, to ‘do only what you see the Father doing’. This may sound simple but people have a way of planning or remaining in their comfort zone. We have a way of deciding how we would like things to be that often excludes what God really wants to do. Most of the time we make our plans and ask God to bless them. It is better to find out what His plans are and follow them. Follow God.

Whatever Christ tells us to do, let us do it. Let us be led by His instruction so that He can do miracles through us by the power of the Holy Spirit.
